What is the Paint-A-Thon?

BRUSH UP NEBRASKA Paint-A-Thon is a community based volunteer program that paints homes of qualified low-income elderly and low-income permanently disabled homeowners, in the Omaha Metropolitan Area, so that they may maintain their property, increase energy efficiency and beautify the community.

The Paint-A-thon is directed by an independent Board of Directors, is managed by an executive director, supported by a homeowner selection committee, and volunteer project ambassadors. Paint-A-Thon is designed to be a "High-impact, Highly-visible, Short-duration" program for busy people who want to give back to the community It is like an "old fashioned barn-raising", people helping people is the spirit of goodwill to our neighbors.

Homeowner applications are available beginning mid-April each year and are available by calling Paint-A-Thon at 402-965-9169 or by contacting 211. Applications must be returned by June 15th. All homes are inspected for need and qualifications and homeowners selected are notified by mid-July.

Team Leader applications are also available beginning mid-April each year and are available by contacting Paint-A-Thon via email or phone at 402-965-9169 Teams receive their house assignments mid-July, and have over one month to prep the home for final painting that is done on the official "Paint Day" on the third Saturday in August (alll homes are completed that day).
